my second question...

Anyone hear these two new tracks?
Sean Paul - Get Busy
Wayne Wonder - No Letting Go

They both use the same drum+clap loop. Great sample. Any ideas where its taken from?
 
Dunno But.....

Reggae does that alot.....having someone different over the same beat or rhythym. The rhythym they used on those songs is called the Diwali Riddum, alot of other reggae artist also have the same rhythym on their songs, like Spragga Benz has one with that beat.....I think.
 
yep a lot of reggae artists got songs on that diwali beat like elephant man, bounty killer, Tko
but thats how dancehall music is they have a particular rythm and then different dj's (which are reular mc's in the hip hop world) jump on it. even the gimme the light beat was also use by elephant man.
 
diwali is the indian new year, wonder if anyone know if that has anything to do with the title. is shawn paul indian?
 
it has nothing to do with indian its just the name of that rythm. it is called the diwali beat and Sean paul wasn't the first on that rythm other singers were on that same rythm so it has nothing to do with been indian
 
Dancehall reggae is More Diverse and
Creative as opposed to some hiphop.

The PRODUCERS CALL the SHOTS.

IF you Make a Hot Riddim ( as they Are called), All ther Artist Basically SEEK YOU OUT. They Make Most of their Money From Perfoming Live. And they wanna be on Trks that will get people movin.

Just Imagine Havine your Phone Ringing Off the Hook with request from Jayz,Missy, Ludacris,NAS, you Name it, Because they Heard A fellow Artist on Beat you Did and they want to record on the Same one. Thats how it Works in Dancehall.

Now People Say that All the Music Sounds the Same. Now You Know Why!

But If everyone in Hiphop used the same beats it would force the artist to be more CREATIVE.

Oh. Its Not A loop.
If You Listen closely you can tell its a Single hit sample, Triggered @ differrent Intervals. Listen to the Intro on the Wayne Wonder Song.

I agree with mistaox, with so many top reggae artist on the same hot beat, it forces each artist to be more creative.

unlike hip hop, where each artist delivery sound so much alike and they talk about the same things, dancehall reggae artists have to stand out and be more exciting and outragous than the next to make it. If the beat is hot, then it comes down to lyrics and delivery. Sean Paul, Bounty Killa, Sizzla and Spragga benz are 4 very different type of MC's, so they can be on the same beat and each song sound very different.

Sean Paul sucks.. horribly. I can't wait till his 15 minutes of fame are over. I didn't like that Wayne Wonder song at first but it has grown on me. I'm feelin it...
 
Sean Paul Is Average. When it Comes to Dancehall. He Has Had a Few hits.
But His Label is really pushing him as opposed so some of the other artist, because he seems to have more sex appeal.

and In America Sex Sells.
