Hi there,

Ok im looking for a new mixer and I was thinking in a vestax pmc07 pro, pmc07 d or pmc pro ISP.

But when I discovered the prices ... o_0

So i thought of pmc-05 pro II.

What do you think ? is there a better mixer for scratch than this one at this price ?

And if anyone could explain me what are the major differences between the pmc-05 pro II and pmc-07 pro would be great

Thanks for all :)

(how's my english ?)

PMC 05pro II is definitely cool.

Main differences w/07 are

NO upfaders curve control and reverse switch.
NO mid equalizer (onli highs and lows)
NO session in (to link up other mixers when sessioning with friends)
NO cue/master switch for headphones...which means you can't practice with headphones except through your amp if it allows it.
Those are the main differences...

But the 05 IS a good table...if you can afford try to find a 07 on ebay...it's worth the money.
Concerning your english ...I guess it's very good..but I'm not english or american as well..so...

lol. (portugal rullez)

A reverse switch and the phones thing are really useless but the 07 costs almost the double :| does it worth it ?

What other mixers should I consider ?

Trully on Ebay..you can make pretty deals man....do not underestimate but if you don't give a fu.ck about those features..stick to a good ol' PMC 05 PRO..good for hip hop and scratching.....or buy a stanton with Vesatx crossfaders...but that's really if you're on a budget.

hey, im in the same place as you man. i was deciding over the PMC 05 digital or PMC 07? what do ypu guys thing i should get? the 07 i will get wont be digital due to price.

cheers, will

p.s. i have a fairly agressive crossfader action and was thinking the 07 non-digital might break? any help would be awesome.

We've had other forums about the Vestax Digital mixers. Many other DJs share my views and I say:

.... those digital crossfaders. I heard Vestax stopped making them because they were "too problematic". Even if you get one that works fine, it is still not worth the extra price.

Plus the digital mixers have a wack fader feature that makes the sound get cut up 4 times in 1 pass, so it sounds like a crab scratch. The feature is just plain cheating your fader technique and I wouldn't recommend getting sucked into the gimmick. It could be detrimental to your skills and style as well as the whole scratch culture if enough people start using them. So please just stay away from the Vestax digital mixers.

Just the plain old 07s are sick. Just ask Sora, he'll tell you. If you end up getting an 07, I guarantee you won't regret it.

PMC 07 PRO...you can't get wrong with that.
I didn't realize taht when talking digital you meant the samurai series..well I tested them..fader felt great...but trust me..the price is not worth it..and I 've heard all the good and bad concerning the faders...too risky for me.
I had an PMC07 pro ISP ..sold it..bought a PMC 007 kept it 2 days (already explained why in previous threads so don't ask me)...and bought .....a PMC07 PRO.This old ninja mixer rulez.^^
All the features are usefull (except the programm reverse switch maybe)..ful control over u're faders....good sound...it's a legend.
So trust me..if on a budget..just buy Ebay..paying with Paypal..you guys should have no problem....if you want some "newer" mixer..try to fin a PMC 05 pro III..I saw some quite cheap ones one Ebay.

And what do you think about the stanton mixers ? SA-5 and SA-8 ?

And i saw on vestax's website that the pmc-05SL just released with a sampler n stuff.

I've never tried one, but I hear the Stanton crossfaders suck. If you buy one, expect to drop a few more bucks and get a Vestax or P & G fader to put into it.

Vestax mixers have been going down in price over the last few months. So you can save huge on the old models like the 05 II or 07. And I agree with Sora that if you want something new try the 05 III, or even the new 05 SL. I've been waiting to check the SL out myself (not to buy).

And buy on Ebay to get the absolute cheapest prices on DJ equipment. Ive saved hundreds of dollars (US) on my decks and mixer there.

Lay down the law MoFo's!!!!
Vestax is king. Period.
I own an 07 and I use it for Mixing Drum and Bass and (or) hip hop. The fu.cking mixer works great. I have found that people who are not familiar with it usually hate the eq's; but that puts you a step ahead 'cause if you can use those eq's with ease, you'll know your way around regular knob style eqs.

im kind of afraid of buying second hand mixers on ebay because they can get to me in bad shape ( i saw an pcm-07 pro at $100).

Also because of the alfandegarian taxes.
And for example if the shipment doesn't arrive or something like that ?
it's kind of a big risk ain't it ?

You can get new mixers on Ebay too. You don't have to buy a risky used mixer with a bleedy crossfader.

For example, I bought a brand new Vestax 007 on ebay and saved about $300!!!

I don't know anything about alfandegarian taxes, so I can't advise there. Call me ignorant, but I don't even know where that is.

I've done lots of business through ebay, and I have only had a problem with someone not sending me my order once. My package got lost in the mail somehow and I was eventually refunded for it. Thankfully it was only a cd, so I didn't mind that much money being in limbo, but if it were money for a new mixer, I would have been quite upset.

All in all, I think Ebay is a good risk.

if on budget stanton w/ vestax crossfaders...
If you can afford yeah try the 05 SL....it's just a a PMC 05 pro III with sampler.

btw what's the difference between the g crossfader and the p crossfader on vestax ?

P & G crossfader translation = Penny & Giles crossfader.

This company called Penny & Giles makes top of the line crossfaders that you can install into various mixers. Sorry for the confusion.
