I've decided to loose myself in the world of Turntableism (if thats a word) to get some inspiration. For the next few weeks I'm gonna eat, sleep and drink wax, it may not taste too good but I'm gonna try it with Hot sauce, see if I can make it work. :D On the real DJing is an international language so it'd be intresting to see what people are listening to out there.

Heres a few i rate
Dj Venom
The Picklez
Shadow
The Executioners
Kemical
Cut master Swift

Holla...

I just saw Mr. Dibbs in concert and he is sick!
I had already listened to lots of his stuff on record and mixtape but nothing is comperable to his live stuff. Dj deetalx(sp?) of the oddjobs is so good to,, his body tricks were tight as hell. Kid koala is inovation in a nutshell and woody is to, but in a different way. I would say the more well known dj's to but you can see the top posts for that stuff. oh ya check out dopey that kid can rip it up canadian style.

I think Kid Koala deserves an honorable mention for his drunk trumpet routine.

The only one I can put on here without having to question myself is Qbert. Why?

Because I went on a trip to see DJ Shadow, and whilst I was in town it was announced Qbert would be playing the night before, I was with friends who couldn't give a shit about scratching or turntablism. Qbert being my idol in terms of DJing, I simply HAD to go, so I dragged them along, they were stood there staring, every single time I looked around from my trance, I noticed their jaws had dropped a bit more. He is hands down the best, most musical Turntablist.

There are many others I respect hugely, but non that make me want to get on a pair of decks faster after hearing him. Inspirational, annnd a ****ing nice chap.

How did yall forget Grandmaster Flash, or Grand Wizard Theodore. Those guys are the father of the scratch.

You can't forget the maestro of beats either; DJ Premier.

nice list, but no love for dj revolution?

I am mainly a scratch dj and have always listened to Qbert, D-Styles, The Beat Junkies, Vin Roc, The Executioners and Dj Shadow, Dj Krush, Atmosphere, Zero 7....etc but my musical taste has branched out to the electronic category. I still love to keep turntablism alive and by any means, if there are any open tables around where I am, I will go up and scratch. As of now my musical taste has been drenched by dubstep/drumstep/electro and of course I try to always spice it up with some scratching. It just feels great to rock a crowd that just love to dance to some really good music.

A lot of the new tracks I've been listening to are:

kobrak
pendulum
knife party
skrillex

Check out my new mix on soundcloud. Search "Dj Artistry Party In Your Head"

Enjoy =)

A-Trak and Laidback Luke!
