Hello,

I have a friend who bought final scratch recently and we are lost regarding the traktor registration.

The traktor version that has been provided with the package is the 1.5 update but when we try to register such release, the online registration tool provide the system id and then ask us to provide a registered name and password????

Then if I try to register on the native website with the serial number provided, the web site tell me that I need to use the registration tool???

I'm lost...

Any helps appreciated

Thanks
Johann

Ok so you installed 1.5 and then you try and use the Reg tool and it then requires you to put in the Serial # of FS which can be found underneath the ScratchAmp...Once you enter that Serial # after that I believe NI sends you an email so you can successfully use 1.5 update past the trial period? If I remember correctly.

If you have done all that and got the code and it still don't work you will have to contact NI!

Hope this helps! No longet an FS user so I forgot the process already! :(

thanks for your reply. I think the main problem come from the fact the version included in the FS package was the FS traktor 1.5 Update

so when i try to register I have the following message :

Product Registration and Authorization for Updates and Upgrades

Welcome to NI’s product authorization and registration system! Your System ID has been transferred to our web server and is now being processed.
To register this upgrade copy, you must have already registered the product you are upgrading from.
Please log in with your username and password.

I tried to contact NI but no answer so far

yes they are known to take a while but stay on them about it! If you get lucky like I did when I got the software upgrade it only took 2 days! Good Luck bro I hope they get back to you quickly!

Anotherthing is did you purchase this brand new or did you get this used. If it is new you just have to go to NI's website and register your 1.5 upgrade.

So in short you have to create a user id and password before they send you anything! If this is used and that person already registered it you have to get the user id and password from them or you can try calling NI to see if they can just change the account info but I am not sure it that would work?

I called NI and they told me it was their fault and it was impossible to fix it by myself...

Thanks

another FS user bytes the dust...iirc, there used to be a link on their messageboard* that directed you to somewhere to get the correct serialnumber.

*another brilliant move by the brains of stanton to take down the only real support they eva had. bro, honestly turn back from the path you've chosen and head over to Rane SSL. better quality, better support, better product.

hey thanks for the advice :)
I'm not personally ready for any kind of mp3 playback... I will stick to my techniks, cdj and rane for the moment. It was for a friend who is definitly not "web-enabled"

Did you try the rane module btw?

Peace
Johann

as a matter of factly, the day stanton shut down their board, i went out and purchased SSL. [I wanted to see what stanton was so afraid of that they had to close down their boards? Now I know why they shut down their boards!]

Installation was cake and I didnt have to jump through hoops to register like I did with FS.

The SSL interface is definitely lacking compared to FS [I much prefer my waveforms displayed left to right rather than top to bottom. And I found browsing for tracks on FS was better too], but the SSL system as a whole seems to perform better, more solid. I would definitely play out live with SSL, on the other hand, would be a bit scary to play out live on FS [I've experienced crashes where I would need to reboot] unless of course I had my sampler or another deck with regular vinyl ready to goto incase of a crash or something. You just can't trust FS fully. I've been experiencing audio drop-outs with FS and pops and clicks, which the SSL system seems to have worked out. The ultimate would be FS interface and Rane hardware.

The biggest issue is just how sketch stanton is with all their products. I feel like they do not really give a **** about the industry and are just milking us poor folks out of our hard earned money. Then when you have an issue with their product, they pass the buck to NI or something or close their only real support they ever offered (their message boards where alot of helpful people help others out)

SSL is the **it....so much better than FS that is why I made my switch as well man....FS was not stable enough for me to bring out anymore...SSL installed smoothly and the fact that it runs great on OSX 10.3.4 and had iTunes functionality was enough to get me sold....and I never been happier!

I had all the FS issues even the one in this post just thought I could lend a helping hand since there are no more FS boards! Anyway glad things worked out and he should be up and running shortly.
