So I have been looking around and I cant really find any good dirty south vst's, like I want a brass vst, a horn vst and possibly a sub bass vst. Anyone know some good ones I can buy or download? Preferably I would like to get a crack code for a good one but those are hard to find. And by the way if it helps, im trying to produce music that sounds like Gucci, T.I. and Roscoe Dash.

Thanks

Alright out of all of those I have only heard of raptor and sytrus, I use FL8 and I have messed with sytrus, which sytrus is better for Dirty South Beats? Sytrus or Sytrus VSTI? And on the other ones you have posted, is there a cracked code I can get to download them?

sytrus is sytrus Vst... lol.. but seriously look into Goliath for bread and butter sounds.. and Omnisphere for you synths sounds...
and don't talk about cracks and mess around here we don't like it and it will get you banned.. we buy our stuff here because we are serious about our tools sir..

producing isn't cheap
but since you have FL Studio which has Sytrus just use that for now
maybe pick up Sonik Synth

look for some tutorials on how to program a Synth.. you be able to make your own sounds.. and be unique while getting your music to fit a a certain genre too

Dirty South music only contains a few key elements. Heavy Kicks, thick claps, thin synth snares, tiny hats, Sine Wave Sub Bass, Fast piano riffs, Brass, Synth string stabs or thick natural strings, and saw detuned synths. If you have those things you should be fine. There are plenty of sources for them.

@fataltone Thanks for the links, your not joking, ive noticed that most of the high quality synths are high priced lol. But your right, I have been using that Sytrus alot, just opening it and messing around with the sounds. Thanks again for the links.

@Morning star I have noticed that, see im from charlotte, nc so I get to hear alot of dirty south beats and I have just fell in love with the style, see I used to like to use heavy synths and just a slower piano. Now I want to venture out and pick up the dirty south style.

Thanks again guys for the help. Hopefully I can produce better music now.

theres no real "dirty south brass" vst. Any brass vst typically has brass that can be easily put into a dirtysouth beat. Same goes for other instrument vsts.

Like hypersonic2 has nice brass, when layered.
There are some free sub bass vsts, or you can make your own with things that come with fl like 3xOSC.

True, i was kinda making my own brass earlier with this one brass vst called DSK Brass. It has some nice brass sounds. just gotta mix them.

ya I've used that before, deleted it though. You will get better brass from hypersonic. But the one thing I liked about DSK was the really low brass. When you play the brass at a really low note it sounds really cool, and i haven't gotten that sound from any other brass plugin.

Yeah I know what you mean, I was messing around with it earlier and it sounded like a T.I. style brass.

look for some soundfonts too.. one guy in the video tutorial section was using brass soundfont and it sounded really good... FL Studio has a soundfont player.. and there are tons of free quality soundfonts....

What exactly is a soundfont and how do you use it? Sorry never heard of that lol

Its just the equivalant of a .wav sample, except in sf2 format. pretty sure thats the extension) In FL they show in the browser like samples and you just drag them in, except instead of the sampler channel you will get a soundfont player channel. Many soundfonts also have a menu of sounds. So you can scroll through sounds from the soundfont player without waiting for them to load each time.

Oh, alright. I think I get what your saying, Like I think ive came across that by accident one time lol. Ill have to youtube it and find some tutorials on how to use it properly.

A lot of it comes down to tweaking skill. 3xOSC is dope if you know ur way around waves. If u want to have good sounding tracks that are also original, learn how to tweak leads and pads. Get a good synth(alot of good ones were named here, but I will throw Nexus 2 and any Rob Papen software, also check out z3ta+ one of my favorites). Jump on google and look for presets and sound banks(.fxp or .fxb) for them and ur good to go. Its not so much the sound, but the way u use it and the drums. I can take a classic R&B chord in say, G or E scale, and throw 1/16 hi hats behind it and volia! a Young Jeezy track. Add some sound effects and a couple counter melodies, and a break down here and there and u have a hit. That's really all it takes now a days...Good luck. Hope this helps.

lol i dunno if i would say "We" prolly more like "you and a couple of the other producers on here that make enough money to actually pay for ridiculously priced vsts"

Well, it's only been a bit more than 10 years that VSTs or plugins in general have even existed. Before that, the equivalent of an "affordable synth" was a shitty Casio home keyboard - and now we've got hundreds of different plugins, starting from those that are completely free. And even the most expensive stuff is relatively cheap: $500 isn't very much for a quality instrument and as said, since the price range starts from zero (and there's plenty of great free instruments around), there's not much to complain about or trying to justify piracy with "high" prices.

Very true, I was telling a friend that I was going to start looking for tutorials from youtube, he siad there is alot on there and that they are really helpfull. And also where can I find a good r&b synth? Like you were saying, is it techincally just an organ?

Basically any vsti can be used in dirty south beats just listen to some beats and find the same instruments find a chord progression and some sprinkles and BAM.
