What are you guys talking about? Rane yes, but Vestax never. Doesnt come close to Ecler HAK360 or 380.

If you're DJing hip hop and into scratching then you should check out the Vestax PMC 07. In my opinion it has the smoothest and most accurate crossfader for scratching. It's a hip hop classic.

Q-Bert at one time used:
2 technic 1200's with shure m44-7 carts
vestax pmc 07 mixer

He has sinced moved on to inventing his own needles and turntables but thats pretty much the classic "turntablism" setup!

This is good info for me, imma beatmaker that would like to learn dj'in

The old 05's and 07's were and are still the shit if you can get one... I have a rane ttm 56s and its good but I can get sicker on my 07. New vestax is total trash..

Questions like these are always relative... it depends on what works for you. what you like someone else might hate...

i once bought a numark mixer... no loud audio, no scratching...died in a week... had my vestax for five years (parties, clubs, battles) and no problems...

Mixers (in general) that have more than two channels on them, are not scratch/battle mixers... they are mixing/club/house/trance type mixers... if your scratching and battlin you only really need two channels....

Rane/vestax are the two top (in my mind) pioneer make good club/mixing mixers(more than two channel)... and mixing mixers not really scratch mixers...

I couldn't have said it better myself!!!!

ive owned and cut on a lot mixers

my take is if you can afford the rane, then by all means go for it, they are awsome.

If your looking for something cheaper but not giving up quality then look at a Vestax as posted above...second hand is a great way to get a great mixer at a low price.

xfaders are cheap these days and very available.

My personal favorite mixer for price and feel is the Stanton SA-5 battle mixer. comes with links for hooking up additional djs' mixers. The best part about the SA-5 is that it come factory with P&G faders all the way around. Sounds good and feels good. The best part is you will have some left over cash to get some good carts or more vinyl.

good luck, hope this helps someone!
