Well, certain FPers get pissy when I say somethin negative about a wrapper (why my words have such an impact on them, I dunno)... so I'll save them another rag attack compliments of my comments.

I was gonna make a post about this damn song yesterday....Am I the only one who sees something seriously wrong with this? Any dumbass can look at this singsongy, nursery rhyme ass song and see that the primary target that they're going for is kids. It's taylor made for kids, In fact I've already seen kids singing this sh*t to themselves. I'm surprised that there aren't more people pissed off about this. The song doesn't just make a couple references to dealing....THE WHOLE FUC*IN THING IS ABOUT DEALING....all wrapped up in a nice, kid friendly package. This is honestly like those bubble gum cigarette's that got people so pissed of a while back..Then the dude got the nerve to tell kids not to do drugs at the end. I guess it A OK to sell 'em tho huh?


I can't stand Al Sharpton....but he needs to get his greasy ass out the salon chair and get on this sh*t

^^ agreed on that. he's talkin about the "traphouse" and whatever u guys call it to deal. they give hints in the video like not taking credit cards or checks. idk man, they can rap about this idc, but dont bring the kids into it. A KIDS SINGIN ABOUT F***** DEALING LIKE A COFFEE SHOP!
 
kids who dont already kno wat he is addressing wont care, all they will hear is a catchy melody which is why they will remember the words. To the young niggas in the hood they already kno wat it is, especially if you growin up and your uncles come over to use your kitchen to cook up a zone. Everything is not all grassy and greeny in the world sh!t is real, so lil niggas that grow up to be hood niggas will already kno wat he talkin abut and lil niggas that dont kno probably never will. Jus like that song Strawberry Letter 23 nobody knew wat the hell he was talkin bout and people still dont.

I feel bad for it, but I love this song...lol. It's one of those songs where you just laugh at it with your friends everytime you hear it but also can't stop loving b/c the beat just bangs. It is definitely a twisted message, however, but really is this anything new? Young Jeezy's My Hood? Trick Daddy's I'ma Thug? Still at the same time Its crazy how shameless Joc seems to be if you think on it...but in the grand scheme of things I don't think this effects kids more than many other songs which are more overt to the point/topic...tobacco advertisements towards children have been directed to those who have never been users but the promotions were informational enough for them to find an association with cigarettes or w/e the product may be...this however a kid is not going to know of unlesss they are alraedy knowledgeable of drugs.

On another note, as I watch this video...is it supposed 2 be ironic that this appears on some minstrelsy sambo **** (?) is one of the questions that it brings to mind. Is this a problem that contributes to our stereotypes in society or just a fun parody like video (?) is another one. Tens of years from now are we going to look back and watch this video and see this video and other ones that have/will have been madelike it and look at it like we have the black entertainers of the minstrelsy period? Should I feel like a bad person for asking myself these questions yet still loving this song? I don't know.

can't see the video (working) but on the song. i agree it's kinda bad how they made a song about drugs and then made it all kid friendly. of course not all kids will immediatly understand the message but some parts of the song out right talk about dealing "Columbian, I ain't talkin coffee bean" i like the beat though. it's really simple but it's cool.
