fl studio - what does 9th wonder use for bass

Ikno 9th wonder uses cool edit and fl studio, but what does he use to create the bass?
 
well let me just call him and ask him

Im pretty sure he uses anything he can get his hands on

Im sure since he is a sample based beatmaker he uses the Sample and filters the bass.. processes it Etc
 
u wont find the sound in FL. he prolly uses some VST or soundfont.
 
yeh more than likely ur not gonna find it in fl studio as a base plugin nor sample... or who knows he could well have layered a few samples/synths and make the sound so many options you choose
 
sound like a creates a bass tone in cool edit, and also he uses low end theory on da sample

fruity tweaks

All u got to do is tweak the S#$% out of the fruity bass plugins in the hip hop packs or the ts404. When u find the sound u like build on it thru time. Pple underestimate fls power.
 
EQ Hip Bass 2 and you can come pretty close.

The Boo Bass is cool or EQ some sytrus Bass's or hit me in a P.M. with your email and ill send you a deep little soundfont Bass i have, its a pretty cool bass for a free sf.
 
9th Wonder uses FL, and everybody go crazy, like now they're closer to what he's doing. he can use anything, a motif bass, a real bassist, soundfonts, trilogy, or he can record his fart and send it through waves rbass.

FL is a good DAW your limits are only in your head.
 
I've never known him to do much in the bass dept.

Always sounds like he filters a bassline and brings it out in the sample to me. Maybe a little sub to bring it out more. You can do that with the 3xOSC or even Buzz Generator.
 
does he still use fl studio for producin?
remember that m-audio interview with him usin protools? i thought maybe he just mixes on it

also, does he ever add any of his own instrumentation?
 
Breakin My Heart didn't sound like a low end. But he really could have used anything...literally...don't worry about what he uses, do you "like a hermaphrodite"

as of april of 2008, he still using FL,

they had this Pete Rock Thing at guitar center, he was there with Just Blaze and some other dudes,

he specifically said he uses FL Studio, Pro Tools, Records and a Turntable...lol...

but the crazy part, is that he said he uses "Fruity Loops 4" lol..
everyone in the croud was like "whaatttttt" lol....so technically, he dosnt use FL Studio, He uses FRUITY LOOPS lol....


but i think he sequences in fl, and tracks out in Pro-tools, to send to the big studios so they can mix it better, thats what he did for "Jeanius"...

also, for bass, im guessing he filters out a bass note from the sample, and maps it out across the keyboard...but thats just my guess...

Hip Hop BASS

sounds just likke his...little EQ and maybe a layer thats about it

pretty raw, minimal bassline but works for his purpose

His sample choice is so crazy sometimes
 
Chances are he's made beats with several different things, but if he's like a lot of people he'll use what he works fastest in more often than not.
It might still be an old copy of FL?

Just imagine:
Jay-z walks in, and say's "I need a soul beat from you, but I wanna sit in on the session as you make the beat. I don't wan't any ready made stuff".
9th would do like most of us, and use whatever is going to get him from point A to B most quickly.
He's not gonna grab that mpc5000 he hasn't totally figured out yet, and take a chance on Jay getting impatient.

Now I'm just being hypothetical of course.
